One of my favorite ways to see a beautiful destination is hot air balloning over the country side. You get up at the crack of dawn to watch the sunrise above the horizon, and for a moment time stops. You can see below the peaceful life of the villagers that go on about their days. I’ve been blessed to have gone hot air ballooning in Bagan Myanmar, Cambodia, Albuquerque New Mexico and now Marakech. This is me in my most natural state...no makeup, a kaftan and a hat. For people who’ve known me for a long time knows that I spent all of my 20’s living on Tropical Islands. Before my life as an interior designer in the big city, I was living the island life on Koh Samui, Phuket and Mauritus. At first I had a hard time adjusting because I felt I was missing out on having a career in the city where all my friends were doing big things. There was a moment when I woke up one morning and I said to myself “Hey you! I’m living in Paradise and I need to be present and I’m suppose to be here...” from that day on, I started living my life knowing I had to SURRENDER to what was in front of me and to fully embody the gifts I was given, living in Paradise. My perspective started to change and I truly began to living my best life. With that lesson, I take it everywhere with me. When I’m in the big city, when I’m in the jungle, when I’m on the mountain or the beaches. I am constantly reminding myself to surrender to what’s in front of me.
